Ainažu Fire Fighting museum

The Ainaži Volunteer Firefighters' Association has been operating in Ainaži, this small seaside and border town, for 95 years. Its members not only fight fires, but preserve their traditions. The work of Ainaži volunteer firefighters can be found in the Ainaži Fire Fighting Museum from the beginning of the foundation. The museum was opened on December 15, 1991, when firefighters celebrated their 65th anniversary. The museum's exposition "Shiny Buttons, Helmets" features photographs and descriptions of firefighters from the first founding session. There are also photos from firefighting training, sports competitions and festivities, restored hand pumps, motor pumps, hand sirens, beautiful and shiny flagpole nails. We also offer to see the fire trucks and equipment parked in the nearby fire depot. Of course, you will be able to take pictures, get in one of the cars, put on a firefighter's helmet! We look forward to seeing you!
