#1 Ainaži Northern pier

Water all around but you - still on land? This is what the Ainaži Northern pier is for – here you can enjoy the eternal cinema of nature – sunset – with shows every evening and every season. 


#2 Liepupes manor

The Liepupe manor is one of the most outstanding baroque architectural monuments in Latvia.    

In the course of time and different occurrences it has experienced glory days and oblivion.

Thanks to the caring owners, the manor has regained its ancient beauty and pride, reflecting the sense that is inherent to its times. Liepupe manor is always welcoming when it greets you - an exquisite hotel operates here and a special thought is given to gourmets in the restaurant „Fon Meks”.

In the attic of Liepupe manor an exhibition on the history of the manor and its previous owners has been created – it is an exciting story of the Liepupe Manor.


#3 The world of Baron Munchausen

Baron Munchausen was a prank master. We know him also as a magician, who has created a whole world in Dunte which reminds of his unbelievable heroics. As the name of the place suggests, it is a whole different world, which, once entered, will keep you occupied throughout the day. This is a place that will leave inspired and ready for further adventures.


#5 Salaca promenade and the lighthouse

The lighthouse of Salacgrīva is located on the right bank of the river Salaca - it is a quadrangular white tower with a red lantern and it was built in 1925. Today the lighthouse does not operate anymore - following this lighthose, all fishermen have already found their way home and the story has ended happily. The lighthouse was built, because due to the numerous sandbanks the coast between Salacgrīva and Ainaži was considered to be the most dangerous area for sailing in the whole Gulf of Riga.


#6 Vidzeme stony seacoast

The full lenght of the walk from Tūja to the Latvian-Estonian border is about 44 km. At the starting point in Tūja, the first stop will be the Ķurmrags lighthouse. The next leg to enjoy will be the unique Vidzeme stony seacost and Veczemju cliffs. 


#7 Horse-back riding

Here you can enjoy horse riding in the forest, across the fields or along the seashore. The kids can also go for a ride! Also we gladly accompany the newly wed on weddings and take part in client’s festivities. 


#8 Ferroconcrete bridge in Annasmuiža

The bridge across Salaca river - the first ferroconcrete bridge in the Baltics. It was constructed in 1908 and opened for users in on the 13th of June, 1909.


#9 St. Arsenuis Ortodox Church

Ortodox Congregation began to function in Ainaži in 1889. There always have been few representatives of Russian nationality in Ainaži town. But a long time ago the Russian tsar promised to give land to those people who would accept ortodox religion. And so many latvians and estonians became the members of ortodox church.

In 1894 to 1895 the congregation was so wealthy that in a very short time it built this lovely church. The church parish was very active during the years of independent Latvia. The activities of the church were stopped during the years of soviet occupation from 1958. The regalia of the church were kept in Salacgriva ortodox congregation. During the 2nd World War the church lost its bell. It was removed and melted down to make gun shots for the needs of German troops.
The congregation regained its church in 1995. The inside of the church was restored and the altar, which was completely destroyed, was reconstructed, the regalia were brought back from Salacgriva.
The church is built in 1894 - 1895. Its activity was interrupted during the years of soviet occupation in 1958. The congregation retrieved its church in 1995.


#10 Lielsalaca Lutheran Church

In 1777 a wooden church was started to build. In 1857 it was finished maintaining the roof of the old church, the walls were built anew under the old roof. Altar piece ''Ascension of the Christ was painted in 1847 by the apothecary of Limbaži K. Gelhārs. The walls of the church are decorated with the reliefs made by sculptor Gustavs Šķilters. The pulpit and part of the benches has been maintained since the 2nd half of the 18th century.


#11 Liepupe Lutheran Church

Liepupe (Pernigele) Church is built in the period from 1777 till 1783. The church is extraordinary with its peculiar location of bell tower - on the side. Therefore the altar is not at the edge of the church, but in the centre. The pulpit is above the altar, and the pastor during the service stands in the middle of congregation. Church bell was moulded already in 1634, but the organ was obtained in 1834. On November 29th, 1971 there was a fire in the church. Baroque style church equipment, organ and archive were burnt. In 1989 the renovation was started. On May 22nd, 1999 restored church was sanctified.


#12 Lady of Refuge Ortodox Church

Built in 1873, architect R. Pflūgs. He is also the author of Birth of Christ Ortodox Cathedral in Riga.
