The coast line from Ainaži to Dunte is unique and full of different contrasts, get to know its natural diversity - the sea, dunes, rocky outcrops, rivers, meadows, forests and finally the different seasons, which surprises with its uniqueness of colors. This is a place to get away from the daily routine and relax in nature.
In Tūja beach you’ll find lots of activities, companions for a frisbee game and watching of sunsets. Here you can also lay in the sand only some 30 steps away from a very special garden. The stones here, the same as the owner of the garden, have a special energy – it must be like this from the fresh sea air.
The Ķurmrags lighthouse is located on the Ķurmrags foreland. It is the most pronounced foreland in the Vidzeme part of the Gulf of Rīga. It was built in 1924. In the storm of 1967 it was destroyed and its light was switched off. It was originally located on the highest part of the shore but during the storm of 2005 it was washed into the sea, where it still stands awry a few metres offshore. It is clearly visible from a distance.
You’ve probably heard of the Vidzeme rocky seacoast – it is a 12km long section of the seacoast and the only place in the Baltic Sea where on the seacoast you can see sandstone exposures.
Vitrupes beach offers you a leisurely walk along the sea and a great view, where Vitrupes river flows into the sea. This beach will be great for walks and beautiful vacation with your family.
Water all around but you - still on land? This is what the Ainaži Northern pier is for – here you can enjoy the eternal cinema of nature – sunset – with shows every evening and every season.

It’s best to taste the lamprey in Salacgrīva from August untill February, where your host will cook it for you on a hot coal. Only in Salacgrīva novadays the weir is used – a traditional and unique way of fishing that reaches hundreds of years back...
It is a rare phenomenon when all eyes on the place where the animals like to congregate. When such magnificent creatures as swans for their place of residence choose the beach accessible to all, we just have to be happy that it is so cool here that even swans like to linger. Here, where the beach is rocky and with appropriate depth, they have the best lunch offer!

You are able to see and count most of the birds in the Randu meadows - a trail and a bird watching tower is waiting for you!
